Come Write In

NaNoWriMo’s Come Write In program connects writers with their nearby libraries, bookstores, and community spaces for cozy, communal write-ins.

Want to sign up your community space to host NaNoWriMo events? Just fill out this form!

What does this mean for you? Well, if you’re a Wrimo, it means you’ll have a space in your neighborhood where you can get to know your fellow writers and simultaneously pen your NaNo masterpiece! If you’re a staff member at a library, bookstore, another community organization with space for writers—or a student or faculty member at a college or university—you’ll be able to welcome a flood of avid novelists and engaged community members into your space.

For Participants

We want to be sure you have every opportunity to meet others in the Wrimo tribe; after all, you’re a pretty incredible bunch. To do this, we connect with CWI locations around the globe to spread the word about write-ins and parties in your area. Check out our list of 2014 participating locations to find one near you!

For CWI Locations

Do you have a lovely library or eclectic community space? Do you want to start a club at your college or university? Great! We’d love to have you. Please fill out this form to be added to our database, and we’ll send you the details about ordering a Come Write In kit, as well as the scoop on hosting successful events at your organization.

What’s a Come Write In kit, you ask? For the cost of shipping, we’ll send you a poster, a window cling, and some bookmarks to help spread the word about NaNoWriMo and the events you’re hosting.

You can also check out the Come Write In forum to chat with others hosting events, and look here for a Municipal Liaison (one of our regional volunteers) in your neck of the woods. If you’re interested, we’ll do our best to connect you with any MLs in your area: they can help you spread the word about your events, co-host your events, and keep you in the loop in your region’s goings-on.

Need more information to help persuade a dubious supervisor? Check out the Library Outreach Guide for the nitty-gritty details! Although this document is geared towards libraries (our largest Come Write In demographic), much of the information inside is useful for anyone hosting a Come Write In event.
