I hope I can make it, though I have no idea where it is and I may not have anyone to watch my three-year-old, so it's not looking good! Anyway, I'll bring something sweet because that's all I know how to make. I love making cupcakes, but it sounds like that's covered, so I'll do something else!
Sounds fantastic!! I will bring cookies, probably. I'm working on a super-chocolatey recipe that I love and it's way better to stuff my face around others than it is while writing alone in my office! Looking forward to it! -Elizabeth
I'm going to bring somethign sweet! The current winner is the chocolate pie I got locally infamopus for back in Radford. I can also bring some of the boring stuff (plates, cups, ice, a blender for the margaritas) if needed...just let me know.
Oh, I can bring my kid? Fabulous! I guess I was thinking of this as a write-in more than a party, but it does say "PARTY," huh? I've never been to a write-in or any other Nano event, so I'm clueless. If I can get my husband to go (not likely, since he's a teacher and is pretty much always working), then we'll all come. I might bring Salt River Bars, which are ridiculously yummy and addictive but easy to make.
The write-ins require the sort of quiet and focus that doesn't lend itself to simultaneous toddler-watching, but for the potluck I suspect we'll be doing a lot more hanging out and thus bringing a kiddo (or a spouse) is totally a-ok. Kids/spouses will be bored during write-ins but eating is fun for everybody. :)

Which is totally why I've never been to a write-in! Would love to make one, though, if I don't get lost on my way there. I live halfway between Richmond and Charlottesville and I really don't know Charlottesville that well.
I'll bring something savory: a tex mex layer dip that is possibly the unhealthiest thing known to mankind (but oh so delicious). At least we can burn all those calories later when we're boosting our word counts, right?
Oh this all sounds so tasty I can't wait! I'm also going to bring sausage rolls, a simple English treat of meat wrapped in pastry. It's as delicious and unhealthy as it sounds.
I am planning on being there! I'm not sure what I am going to bring. I might try some macaroni and cheese type stuff if I'm feeling ambitious; otherwise it will be something simple like a chips-and-dip affair.
For anyone who is feeling that their wordcount is not quite Cupcake Worthy yet, don't worry, there will be writing going on of course. I know I'd like to have 25K to write on that cake!
Halfway Party Menu Semi Plan!
A thread where we can hint enigmatically about the foodstuffs we are planning to bring to the Halfway Party Potluck!
The Halfway Party will be Tuesday November 15th at WriterHouse, 7-10pm. Or possibly later. It depends how the words are going!
I plan to bring something savoury and something sweet. And by sweet I mean cupcakes.
Re: Halfway Party Menu Semi Plan!
I hope to bring some sort of delicious sweet food thing. Or Utz cheese balls... it depends on what I can find!
(Mmm, Utz cheese balls...)
Re: Halfway Party Menu Semi Plan!
I will bring something savoury and thanksgiving themed. I may also bring something sweet, if I am so inspired.

If you can find a babysitter, we would love to see you!
Here's a map showing WriterHouse:

Address is 508 Dale Avenue, Charlottesville, VA.
You can never have too many cupcakes!
Re: Halfway Party Menu Semi Plan!
Also, as a general note, kids/spouses/significant others are also welcome!

And I blame Nanowrimo for the glaring typos in my post above. Quantity! Qunatity! Quantity! I didn't even stop to spellcheck what I was typing.

I will bring something savory. It will be a broccoli salad.
Re: Halfway Party Menu Semi Plan!
I will bring something savory. Maybe rolls! (that's more "other" than savory, but there you go.) Bread and cheese. There.
YAY!!
