I started writing my first book when I was about seven years old. I don't remember much about it, but the main character was a colt named Midnight and I drew all the pictures myself. And it was heavily influenced by the work of Marguerite Henry.
Twenty years, an English degree, and one graduate degree in journalism later, I'm a former newspaper reporter and current freelance writer currently focusing on writing fiction. I finished my first heinously long fantasy novel this summer, and now I'm working on a smaller, more manageable urban fantasy.
This is my first NaNoWriMo, and I'm excited to get started.
