I'm 23 and unemployed, and going back to school as of the spring 2011 semester, with my main focuses being Anthropology (specifically archaeology) and History. I'm hoping to become a college professor once I finish school. I've a bit of an obsession with Europe, Asia, and Middle Eastern history. I love European rock and metal, and any time you see me writing, chances are I'll be listening to that. The specific band varies depending on the mood of the scene I'm writing, but mostly I write to power, speed, and thrash metal. Anything with heavy guitar riffs, insane fast drums, and just generally gets the blood pumping is food for my muse. (I should mention that this is how I wake up in the morning. Coffee, psh, who needs that when you've got Scandinavian Death Metal blasting first thing??) I'm a total dork and a metalhead, and proud of it. I write out of love of writing, and in the hopes that I can gradually improve my skills, and even one day get a fantasy novel (my genre of choice) published.
- Kansas City, Kansas
- Music, obviously. I love reading and roleplaying online, D&D and video games, our local renaissance faire is always a blast. I love spending time with my friends, of course.
- Favorite noveling music:
- Varies depending on the character. Normally I listen to really fast metal, to keep me pumped up, but if the mood is sad I'll switch over to some sadder music. I often listen to Nightwish, HIM, Sonic Syndicate, Apocalyptica, Tyr & Eluvetie for my norse-like characters. For sadder moments, I generally listen to the 300 soundtrack and Niyaz.
- Favorite books or authors:
- Elantris, Warbreaker, Heroin Diaries, Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time series, Song of Ice and Fire, Mistborn, Pride and Prejudice, Brandon Sanderson, George R.R. Martin, Robert Jordan (RIP), J.R.R. Tolkien.
