How It Works
Sign up, then follow these steps:
1. Create your novel.
Head to My Novel to get going. Your aim: a 50,000-word rough draft in the 30 days of November.
2. Earn badges.
You earn badges by interacting with the NaNoWriMo community. Use My NaNo to jump-start your noveling network.
3. Get inspired.
We have plenty of resources to spur you on. Find them via Inspiration . (We especially suggest NaNo Prep and our encouraging pep talks by well-known authors.)
4. Start writing.
Starting on November 1, update your word count via the header menu:
5. Validate your novel.
Starting on November 20, paste the full text of your novel to win. Click the trophy badge in
My Novel to start the validation process.
