11 days ago43 winners! And almost 4 million words for our region in 2013. Congratulations and great writing everyone!!!
27 days agoDid you know we're at war with Northwest Florida? We need your help to get those words piling up so we can bury them in our word counts. I'll be at Armadale Library this weekend 1pm to 4pm Saturday and Sunday powering down those words in the hopes of bringing my own word count back to respectable levels and I hope you'll join me. Don't let Northwest Florida take the crown this year, lets beat them!

about 1 month agoThis weekend the City of Gosnells has two authors visiting. Elizabeth Bezant will be at Thornlie Library talking about how to get started as a writer and with your writing when you don't know how or where to start. Alan Hancock will be at Kenwick Library with a talk on writing a life story.
Saturday, October 19 at Kenwick Library (10am-11am) Alan Hancock
Saturday, October 19 at Thornlie Library (10am-11.30am) Elizabeth Bezant
Alas, they are both on at the same time and we can't be in two places at once so you'll need to decide which is the best option for you. I'll be at Thornlie if anyone wants to find me in person to ask any NaNo-related questions. I'm happy to hang around for a while afterwards (so if you go to see Alan at Kenwick I'll still be available afterward if you want to make the trip over to Thornlie). Feel free to bring along a friend if you know anyone still on the fence about joining us for NaNoWriMo this year.
3 months agoWant to know more about NaNoWriMo and the events coming up in November near you? There are four one-hour NaNo Information Sessions at the beginning of October:
Tuesday, October 1st at Mundijong Public Library (6pm),
Thursday, October 3rd at Armadale Library (7pm),
Tuesday, October 8th at Victoria Park Library (6.30pm), and
Thursday, October 10th at Gosnells Knowledge Centre (6.30pm).
It would be great to see some newcomers so if you have a friend who might be interested in National Novel Writing Month, but isn't quite sure if it's for them yet, bring them along. I'll be available at all four events if you have any questions or would like to meet. Facilities are available in all four libraries so newcomers can register on the night and get assistance with the online aspect where needed.
Contact details and locations of the libraries are available here: http://oznowrimo.org/contact/. Please register your interest with the library hosting the Info Night you'd like to attend.
