The race of November is just about here, Wrimos. Get your Planner notes out, pull your Pantser jeans on, and prepare yourself for another month of writing until we drop!

During this month you will find yourself in an endless loop of questioning your writing, favoring it, and then not knowing anymore. The process of writing a novel isn't an easy one, and often times, we are our own critic, and our own enemy. We will see our books as a tedious chore, we will see them as something that keeps fighting us, but in the end, we will find that they are a glorious, well-worth thing to keep fighting for.

Don't give up, Wrimos! Our adventure has only begun.

The fight for November is a long one. Week one feels like pulling teeth. Week two is gone before you know it. Week three fights you every step of the way, and week four? Week four is madness as we know it.

But you're here because you want to write. You're here to get something done that-- for some of you-- means everything. Never forget that, for every step you take. Painful steps and quick ones both get you just as close to your goal of finishing your work.

In the words of Neil Gaiman, the world needs your story. Write it, Wrimos! I believe in you. And I want to read every one of your stories as soon as this torturous month is over.

What is this?! October again?! How could it be happening? The End Days are upon us! Bid your social lives adieu, Wrimos. We are your only family now.

But we're a pretty cool family, if we do say so, ourselves.

Have you started planning yet? I hope so. You're in for a long and spooooky month. This year will hold some new delights for veterans and newcomers alike. I hope you're ready.

This is the eeend!

But not really. For those of you who don't check your NaNoMail (for shame), we want to put together a writing group that will last past NaNoWriMo and into the coming year! Let's finish our novels together, Wrimos. Contact me for more information!

And remember, guys. I love you more than cheese fries.

So the Write-Ins this weekend were awesome-- but how can we do better? For those of you that weren't there, we made nametags, had little table tents and did about a million Word Sprints! (Okay, it felt like a million, but was probably more like five.)

What does everyone want to see in Write-Ins for the rest of the month? We got a lotta weekends! Maybe we should plan our own Night of Writing Dangerously. But how!?

We're Modesto. We're pretty awesome. Comment below in the Regional Forum about what you think!

SATURDAY WRITE-INS:

There seems to be something silly going on with the forums! I just wanted everyone to know that Saturday Write-Ins won't be starting until after the Kick-Off, but feel free to show up and write, anyway! I just won't be there because it's been one crazy week and I need a little bit of breathing time, haha.

Can't wait to see everyone at the party!

It's that time again!

By all means, a tired phrase-- not only in the news business, but practically everywhere... but hey. It's NaNo. And by far one of the most important lessons of NaNo is don't get it right, just get it written. James Scott Bell said that in his book The Art of War for Writers. And you know what? He's right.

One of the many difficult things about NaNo is learning to shush your inner editor. Don't sweat the details. Don't worry about the fact that the scene didn't come out exactly like it was in your head. Don't even trip just because your prose looks a little like it's your first dance with the English dictionary.

Just get it done.

And know that you have a support group here! Post your goals, talk about your writing, share your characters. The more you find yourself wanting to think about your story, the more you'll want to write it.

This year, we'll be doing Word Sprints and challenges along with our usual Write-Ins. I hope to see you all there. Let's get our outlines written while we still have a month left!

And remember guys-- I love you more than cheese fries,
