January NaNoEdMo Editing Workshops!

Jan 21 - 1PM @ Walnut Stree West Branch Free Library of Philadelphia
Jan 28 - 1PM @ City Institute (Rittenhouse) Branch Free Library of Philadelphia

Details:
Jan 21 A Technical Approach to Self-Editing

Grammar, punctuation, crutch words, dialogue tags, and verb conjugations are just some of the challenges facing writers determined to self-edit. Whether you are cleaning your prose for beta-readers, a writing group, or with the intent of seeking publication, all writers can benefit from this seminar either as a topic introduction or self-editing refresher.

Jan 28 Big-Picture Self-Editing

When we read a book, we’re seeing a finished product that can appear concrete and immutable. In order to successfully self-edit, we must appreciate the liquid form that is beneath the surface of all stories, including our own. This seminar will focus on techniques and strategies for writers of any skill level to expand their ability to complete big-picture self-edits.
