Developing a Writing Community Online and In-Person
Free Webinar! Wednesday, January 22 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
Contrary to popular belief, writing is not a solo sport. At National Novel Writing Month, we firmly believe that noveling is better with friends, and that editing requires them. In this webinar, we get together with some of ours to discuss how to assemble the perfect team to polish your novel to a high gleam.
Our Fellowship of the Red Pen includes: Ashleigh Gardner, Wattpad’s Head of Content of Publishing; Sara McBride, volunteer Municipal Liaison in Los Angeles; and Grant Faulkner, Executive Director of the nonprofit behind NaNoWriMo.
Ashleigh will introduce participants to Wattpad’s very active community of writers and readers (the largest in the world!), and share real-life examples of writers using Wattpad to build fanbases and get feedback on their work.
Sara will talk about the two different styles of in-person groups NaNoWriMo’s Municipal Liaisons have started in Los Angeles: groups that serve as a motivational check-in, and groups that exchange pieces for corrections, ideas, and advice.
Don’t journey into the sometimes treacherous lands of editing without a team. Join us during the first webinar of the “Now What?” Months, and assemble your own fellowship!
This webinar is free thanks to the generous sponsorship of Wattpad! Wrimos seeking a place to share their freshly-minted novels couldn’t ask for a better audience than that on Wattpad, the world’s largest community of writers and readers. Wattpad has pioneered a mobile, social reading experience that makes it really easy for writers to interact with and get feedback from readers.
