Here we are again! Starting right back up. And this year is your year! Whether writing's been smooth sailing or rocky shores, now you'll have your neighborhood Wrimos at your back through the process!

We're planning to put together a pre-NaNo brainstorm session for all you writers who need some time to really think about your project before we launch into it. Let us know in the forums if you have any preferred dates or times!

Stay strong, Wrimos!

Looks like it's the end, chaps.

It's been a tough month, but we pulled through it. For those of you who want to join the year-round NaNoWriMo chat on Telegram, visit Or send me a private message with your email to start getting eblasts!

No matter if you did 10 words or 110,000, you still chipped away at something daunting. And we'll be here all year if you decide you still want to tackle this beast!

Remember guys--I love you more than cheese fries.

Knock, knock.

October is at the door. And you know what that means? Well, other than pumpkins, dressing up, and the best holiday ever-- but it also means it's time to start prepping for the most productive time of year.

Do you have your novel planned yet? Never fear! Your MLs are here. Follow our Regional Messages for some tips and tricks for Preptober.

Have a spooooky good time! ~Lanimage.

What is this?! October again?! How could it be happening? The End Days are upon us! Bid your social lives adieu, Wrimos. We are your only family now.

But we're a pretty cool family, if we do say so, ourselves.

Have you started planning yet? I hope so. You're in for a long and spooooky month. This year will hold some new delights for veterans and newcomers alike. I hope you're ready.

This is the eeend!

But not really. For those of you who don't check your NaNoMail (for shame), we want to put together a writing group that will last past NaNoWriMo and into the coming year! Let's finish our novels together, Wrimos. Contact me for more information!

And remember, guys. I love you more than cheese fries.

So the Write-Ins this weekend were awesome-- but how can we do better? For those of you that weren't there, we made nametags, had little table tents and did about a million Word Sprints! (Okay, it felt like a million, but was probably more like five.)

What does everyone want to see in Write-Ins for the rest of the month? We got a lotta weekends! Maybe we should plan our own Night of Writing Dangerously. But how!?

We're Modesto. We're pretty awesome. Comment below in the Regional Forum about what you think!

There seems to be something silly going on with the forums! I just wanted everyone to know that Saturday Write-Ins won't be starting until after the Kick-Off, but feel free to show up and write, anyway! I just won't be there because it's been one crazy week and I need a little bit of breathing time, haha.

Can't wait to see everyone at the party!

It's that time again!

By all means, a tired phrase-- not only in the news business, but practically everywhere... but hey. It's NaNo. And by far one of the most important lessons of NaNo is don't get it right, just get it written. James Scott Bell said that in his book The Art of War for Writers. And you know what? He's right.

One of the many difficult things about NaNo is learning to shush your inner editor. Don't sweat the details. Don't worry about the fact that the scene didn't come out exactly like it was in your head. Don't even trip just because your prose looks a little like it's your first dance with the English dictionary.

Just get it done.

And know that you have a support group here! Post your goals, talk about your writing, share your characters. The more you find yourself wanting to think about your story, the more you'll want to write it.

This year, we'll be doing Word Sprints and challenges along with our usual Write-Ins. I hope to see you all there. Let's get our outlines written while we still have a month left!

And remember guys-- I love you more than cheese fries,
