18 days agoHello Campers! :)
Another Camp NaNois upon us, and with it comes the fun of getting together once again to write our stories that are dying to get out.
I've created a private cabin for the Camp, so if you're interested, send me your name you joined undr andI can invite you. Please remember you have to set up for novel on campnanowrimo.org to officially join. Otherwise, it won't let me add you.
Unlike NaNoWriMo, Camp NaNo is more of a do it yourself type of event, but we'd like to once again try to bring everyone together. With that in mind, I'm setting up a last minute planning session and two write-ins this month. Like during NaNo, we're keeping these centralized in the county so everyone has a chance to come to them. If you'd like to hopst your own, please feel free to do so. The more involvement not only helps us achieve our goals, but also to keep this awesome program going.
End of the Line planning session.
March 31 (Sunday) at Panera Bread from 6 PM – 8 or 9 PM – 11029 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026.
April 15th (Monday) at Starbucks from 6 PM - 8 or 9 PM. If it rains, we'll move inside or to Chipotle. 5796 S University Drive, 101, Davie, FL 33328.
April 26 (Friday) at Panera Bread from 6 PM – 8 or 9 PM – 11029 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026.
At the moment, our schedule is tight so there are only a couple of days a week we can host these in person, but we'll also be running virtual write-ins (more to come) and a few challenges such as a 24 Hour Writing Challenge at least ocne a week. Of course, no one is lmited to just these, so feel free to do your own if you feel the need and desire to.
Hope to see you all online or at the events.
Keep on writing and let your imaginations fly!

10 months agoHey guys!
Sorry for the late notice. Things have been a bit hectic the last couple of weeks.
Due to lack of interest, we're cancelling our writing group until further notice. We may start it again at some point if interest for it grows and it'll remain in a central location so everyone has a chance to come to them.
Hope everyone's writing is going well. :)
about 1 year agoHey everyone! I thought it’d be good to put together an official schedule for our Fort Writerdale Writing Group at Panera (2699 South University Drive Davie, FL, 33023). All times are 7PM to whenever. If they or the location are changed, we’ll post about it.
Please note that the days in April and June may be write-ins for Camp NaNoWriMo (For those taking part, more information will be coming shortly) and for NaNoWriMo in November.
about 1 year agoWriting Group
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday! :)
I mentioned at the end of NaNoWriMo that we were probably going to set up a regular writing group for us to meet, critique, bounce story ideas around, and do impromptu write-ins.
This is the next step in helping everyone to complete our first drafts and ready them for the next steps, and I look forward to working with all of you on a more regular basis.
The schedule we decided on is similar to the write-ins from NaNoWriMo. Each meeting will be the third Thursday of each month at Starbucks at 5796 S University Drive, 101, Davie, FL 33328 from 6 PM to 9 PM or later, depending on what those attending wish.
As with the Write-ins, we wanted to keep it as centralized as possible (meaning it's an average of 30 minutes drive from most areas in the county), so everyone has an equal chance to come.
The first one is scheduled for January 18, 2018. Please bring at least 3 printed copies no larger than 10 pages of anything you wish critiqued. I'll post about the write-in here and in the Facebook group (Fort Writerdale) for everyone to RSVP, so please keep an eye on those posts to see if you need to bring more copies.
Hope to see you guys there! :)

over 1 year agoHello everyone!
Welcome to NaNoWriMo 2017! As we prepare for this year's endeavor, I wanted to share what I'm planning for this year: A new kind of challenge.
I'm taking a different approach this year in that I want to help all of us complete the month with a viable first draft. To accomplish this, I feel it's important to look at our word count goal as a secondary goal. Don't get me wrong, we should all work to win NaNoWriMo, but I know for me, concentrating solely on that goal has led to less than stellar first drafts. I'm sure others have noticed the same.
One thing I've learned in career as an author is that when we have a good story in mind and focus on it, the words flow. I know it's simpler said than done, but as long as we continue chipping away at our story, we'll make progress. The trick is to stay focused on what's important to us.
Hope to see you guys at the events. :)
