7 months agoLet's plan a TGIO party!
7 months agoI'm planning on going to the write-in in Lewiston!
I may bring popcorn!
7 months agoJust in case anyone writing from the Lewiston/Clarkston or surrounding area doesn't already know, there is a Wednesday 5-8 PM Write-in at Lewiston City Library, 2nd floor. Join us for some sprints, a great chance to quickly increase your word count.
7 months agoIf you're IN Lewiston, please update your "location" as "Lewiston" or "Lewiston, Idaho" so we can know where you are and make a case to the NaNoWriMo central office that enough Lewiston people wrote and participated enough to merit Lewiston being its own region.
Let me or Terri know if you have questons!
8 months agoThere WILL be a write-in at Café Moro every Friday at 3:30. The Pullman write-in Friday at 6pm was quite good. I will probably make both a habit throughout November. We had a tremendously well-attended kick-off at Bucer's Pub on Wednesday and another at Café Artista on Saturday.
8 months agoPullman is having a Friday 6pm Write-in every week. I think I will try to make it as much as I can, since we don't have that day filled. Carpooling is possible, so let me know if you're keen. I will probably be leaving from Moscow.
8 months agoThere may be some additional write-ins in Pullman at Café Moro. More to be announced if it's happening. Khaliela may have details before me.
10 months agoTake the SURVEY. What do you want out of NaNo this year?
11 months agoWe are working on starting a new region -- in Lewiston!
over 1 year agoWe will be having a write-in December 31 at Artista. We are trying to work out whether Artista will be open Christmas Eve Day, and if so, there, otherwise One World Cafe (6th and Main) if they're open. See you there and then!
over 1 year agoWrite-ins continuing at Cafe Artista on Saturdays!
I plan to go to RadCon and talk to agents and publishers. I still have a couple of seats in (the back of) my car.
over 1 year agoEnd of Nano!
Pullman are throwing a TGIO party at Zeppoz on Saturday 2-5pm. I think I may crash it. Carpools are possible.
Don't forget, our last write-in is tonight!
over 1 year agoIt's a War of Words with Pullman!
As of this posting, we were still a bit ahead. Keep writing, wrimos!
over 1 year agoMore write-ins added!! GENESEE and LEWISTON! Check out the calendar. Also check out the USA::WASHINGTON::PULLMAN regional calendar, since they are right across the border. I'm planning on going to their Thursday write-in
over 1 year agoSecond Moscow write-in ADDED. (Fridays, One World Cafe, 6pm, see calendar).
over 1 year agoPostcard swap HERE http://nanowrimo.org/forums/all-ages-coffee-house/threads/381916
over 1 year agoPlanning the 2016 Write-in Schedule!! Please fill in this survey! https://goo.gl/forms/zGIYgQO6j9Fm3Tas2
almost 2 years agoI have access to the Twitter account for Moscow NaNo now, so follow and I will try to start sending out messages. Hopefully we can use that in November.
almost 2 years agoWe are still meeting 10 to one at Cafe Artista in the back room. All welcome! We've had a couple of new members join up!
about 2 years agoIs there anybody out there? We are still holding our Write/Edit-ins every Saturday at Cafe Artista from 10am to 1pm (or later)
over 2 years agoLET THE EDITING BEGIN!!!
We're going to have our first EDIT-IN this Saturday, and share tried-and-true techniques for turning your manuscript into a novel!
Post your thoughts and questions on the forum below!
over 2 years agoI'm going to drop my car off in Pullman at one pm, so after that I should be able to join the Pub Crawl over there at whichever cafe they're at at that time.
over 2 years agoLet me know if you'd like to join the LAST DAY PUB CRAWL and need to carpool or something. I will probably be going for the breakfast, come back to Moscow, and then go back later.
over 2 years agoWe talked about a LAST DAY PUB CRAWL in Pullman. See the calendar for details. I am taking that day off, so I will likely be taking part, although I have an appointment at 10am that day.
over 2 years agoCORRECTION: the Pullman Write-in is at DAILY GRIND at 6 tonight and at Thomas Hammer TOMORROW.
We have a write-in at One World Cafe Tomorrow.
over 2 years agoNobody turned up to the Bucer's write-in last night, which is too bad since it was one of the few places in Moscow with electricity.
I think I will go to the Pullman Write-in at Thomas Hammer from 6pm tonight.
over 2 years agoCheck out the PULLMAN WRITE-INs as they have several each week that fill in the gaps with our ones in case they fit your schedule better.
I noticed there's one tomorrow (Wednesday) at Daily Grind and I may turn up to that one.
over 2 years agoI removed the THANKSGIVING write-in at OWC from the Calendar since they're closed.
over 2 years agoHad a good write-in yesterday afternoon/evening in Genesee. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is another one at Bucer's in Moscow.
over 2 years agoWe had a really good write-in at OWC Thursday Night. Well-attended and a lot of fun. Tomorrow at 10am at Artista again.
over 2 years agoBucer's write-in will be from SIX O'CLOCK for the rest of the month. The "Beer Club" got in ahead of us, and folks have not been able to make it until six anyway.
The One World Cafe one on Thursday is still slated for 5pm, and of course Artista is from 10am to 1pm (I need to bail by 1:30 this Saturday, by the way).
over 2 years agoI will have to leave a bit early on Tuesday as I have a thing at 7pm. It may get cancelled and I may be able to come back afterwards (though that might be after 9pm).
over 2 years agoOnly one other person showed up at Bucer's tonight. We had the Grinder Room, which can accommodate at least eight people. Again, it's from 5 to 8 or 9
over 2 years agoWHICH ROOM AT BUCER'S on TUESDAY?
If we have nine or more people, we can get the big "smoke room" otherwise we go with the "Grinder Room", or we can grab our own table and hope for the best.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW (post here or whatever) if you plan to make Tuesday so I can tell the own which room to reserve for us.
We still have the big rooms at both Artista and One World Cafe all month.
over 2 years agoI have reserved the Artista back room from eight to noon on Sunday, and that will be the Moscow kick-off for those who don't want to go to Genesee. I will be doing both.
over 2 years agoWe have effectively settled on the 5-meeting-a-week schedule on the calendar with the times and places specified. I have reserved the rooms at the various cafes around Moscow (Bucer's has yet to get back to me, so we may have to just grab a random table).
Our first meeting will be out in Genesee at Sonya's place, so that will be our kick-off. If you need a ride, let me know!
almost 3 years agoPlease check the calendar for November for the proposed schedules of write-ins and comment below if you approve, have suggestions, or other.
almost 3 years agoHey Nanoes! We're talking about doing at least one write-in during November down in Genessee -- thoughts?
about 3 years agoMoscow ART WALK is Today. Does anybody know if it's going to be on Saturday as well? That is, that we might get bumped out of the back room this week?
ALSO: Just for instance, does anybody have a problem moving the meeting to later in the day? Like noon? Would anybody PREFER such a time?
about 3 years agoThere's going to be a POETRY READING at Farmer's Market from 9:30 to 10:30, so I may be a bit late. Please show up though!! To both!
about 3 years agoWriting Group tomorrow! And I will plan on bringing the game, probably to play after one or so. See you there!
about 3 years agoSaturday meetings still going on at 10am at Cafe Artista in Moscow! We typically have at least 3-4 people, sometimes more!
about 3 years agoIf anybody is interested in being the co-ML for Moscow this November, let me know. I think I have it covered on my own, so it would mostly be a learning/training experience, bouncing ideas back and forth and learning the process in case you wind up as the main ML here (or elsewhere) later on. You could also inject your own flavor of Fearless Leader-ship into everyone's NaNoWriMo experience, if you want.
about 3 years agoWe had three of us at the last edit/write-in! Keep on coming! I am up to about 6 of a total of 20 chapters to get my 5th edition of SABINE ready to print.
about 3 years agoWe are still meeting every Saturday at 10am at Cafe Artista! About 4-5 people turn up every time. You could be one of them!
about 3 years agoMore people are joining Critique Circle! If you are and want others in the group to look at your stuff, please post your ID on one of the threads below. Same for WattPad.com.
This goes without saying, but please keep your critiques kind, folks! If you can't say something nice (or helpful), you probably shouldn't be reading it in the first place, and that's fine, too.
about 3 years agoI'm not going to be gone Easter Weekend after all. I had to cancel my Seattle plans.
about 3 years agoI am planning on being GONE Easter Week-end, but we'll still have the room so feel free to show up -- please do!
over 3 years agoWrite/revise-in tomorrow at 10am at Cafe Artista!!
Be there or be elsewhere!
over 3 years agoI'd like to encourage everybody to put your stuff up on Critique Circle and let me (and everybody) know it's there and I'll try to critique it. I've got a lot of stuff up there now and have gotten some good feedback. If you can, create your CC name the same as your NaNo one, so it's easy to find you.
over 3 years agoI'm busy Tuesday night, but might be available for an ad hoc write-in on Thursday (or Wednesday or Friday), so let me know. I will be gone Easter weekend, by the way.
over 3 years agoSee everybody tomorrow morning at Cafe Artista!
over 3 years agoI'm busy tonight, so no ad hoc write-in for me, but I'll see everybody on Saturday. We had a good meeting last Saturday! On a personal note, I had some inspirations for plot fleshings-out for my 2013 manuscript (working title "Klaudia"). I'll scribble a bit below, and I need to get some freewriting done on these ideas ASAP!
over 3 years agoWe had another good write-in on Saturday. I could probably do a Thursday if anybody wants to -- let me know. I may end up at Bucer's on Tuesday as well (for other stuff but possibly writing later).
over 3 years agoI'll be down for the write-in soon, but I have to leave by 11:15ish. I will probably be back around 1:20 and be there all afternoon, though.
over 3 years agoI'm here. It's 10:15am and so far nobody else has turned up for the Saturday morning revise-in. I'll hang out until about one, probably, and then I need to move on.
over 3 years agoSee y'all at the write-in tomorrow! I have to leave on time (at one), can't stay late this time.
over 3 years agoLet's have a revise-in at Bucer's tonight from about five pm. Let me know if you can make it!
over 3 years agoI am busy tonight (Tuesday), but let me know if you want to meet up on Thursday (or any other day this week) at Bucer's for an ad hoc write-in.
over 3 years agoWe had a good revise-in last night at Bucer's, and we'll have our usual Revise-in tomorrow at 10 - 1pm at Artista.
over 3 years agoAd hoc write-in / edit-in at Bucer's Thursday (tomorrow) night from 5ish. Let us know if you can make it!
over 3 years agoI can't make Tuesday until about 6:30, but let me know. Thursday looks pretty open at this point. See everybody Saturday at 10am at any rate!
over 3 years agoWho's up for a write-in Tuesday or Thursday night?
over 3 years agoThere was a scheduling mix-up at Artista so another group has the room. It should be sorted out by next week. We're out front now.
over 3 years agoWe had a little write-in last night at Bucer's with three folks showing up, some good brainstorming and critiquing and such. See y'all tomorrow!
over 3 years agoI could maybe do a write-in tonight. Let me know if you want to meet at Bucer's!
over 3 years agoContact me if you want to turn up for a write-in at Bucer's Tuesday or Thursday this week! It looks like I will be there in any case on Tuesday!
over 3 years agoTuesday and Thursday are probably going to happen at Bucer's next week from 5pm to 8pmish
over 3 years agoI'm heading down to Artista for the 10am to 1pm write/edit-in. See you there!
over 3 years agoI'm gonna create a thread for us to post on our progress on revising! Check it out!
over 3 years agoIt sounds like nobody can make Bucer's on Thursday, but let me know if otherwise and I can turn up.
over 3 years agoWe'll have a little ad hoc write-in tonight from 6pm at Bucer's.
over 3 years agoI'm planning on going to Bucer's on Thursday from 5pm for an ad hoc write-in. Let me know if you might turn up!
over 3 years agoOn my way to the write-in at Bucers now!
over 3 years agoI'm thinking that I WILL turn up to Bucer's on Thursday around 5pm for an ad hoc write-in, so let me know if you might turn up, too.
over 3 years agoUp to 102 pages retyping 5th draft of EXODUS manuscript. I was planning on 40p/week, but I've been making about 50p/day so far, but I'm on staycation. I uploaded one chapter to Critique Circle already.
over 3 years agoWrite-in again today! I need to bail by noon and I'll try to be there early.
over 3 years agoI think I've recovered from whatever it was I had, and I'll see y'all on Saturday at Cafe Artista from 10am!
over 3 years agoI've been editing away, but I got sick yesterday so a Tuesday night write-in is probably out of the question this week. Hope to be better by Thursday, though. Ping me anyway!
I'm about halfway through hand-editing "Exodus" 145 pages with 170 to go then type it up and proofread and type it and maybe it will be ready for a second-edition beta-read on Lulu.com and kindle.
over 3 years agoWe had a good Revising Club ad hoc meeting at Bucer's last night. Three of us turned up. I got some good editing done. I'm up to 43 whole pages hand-edited on my EXODUS manuscript -- about 200 or so more to go, and then on to trying to put it (back) into a book!
over 3 years agoI was at Bucer's last night. Mary was going to turn up but got tied up. I ended up hanging out with friends whom I ran into there.
Thursday is still a standing option for anybody who wants to meet up for revising! Any other days can probably work for me as well, too. Let me know if you want to meet up.
I got some good editing done on my EXODUS 5th draft this morning and will do more today. Beta reader feedback is trickling in, and I'm applying the advice.
I'm looking forward to our Revising Club tomorrow at Cafe Artistsa!!
over 3 years agoad hoc extra Revision Club Meeting tonight at Bucer's from 5pm!
over 3 years agoI'm at Shari's and we're going to get the big back room here in a moment. One nano and her son will be here soon so I may go ahead and get an appetizer platter and a pie straightaway.
over 3 years agoTGIO Party and final Write-in at Shari's from 6pm. I will probably be there 4:30-5, there will be snacks, and unlike the cake, which we know is a lie, there will be pie! You may also order your own meal. Shari's is open past midnight for those who want to go it to the bitter end!
over 3 years agoWe meet for a write-in TOMORROW at ONE WORLD CAFE. Cafe Artisita is shut tomorrow, hence change of venue. We should have the Big Room. From 10am!
over 3 years agoI'm upstairs at one world café. It's pretty packed and we don't have the big room tonight.
over 3 years agoOnce again, we're meeting at One World Cafe Tuesdays and Thursdays and I did manage to reserve the Big Room on Tuesdays. That's from about 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. I will try to be there by five. Saturdays are from 10 to two at Cafe Artistaa in the back room.
over 3 years agoWe'll have our kick-off party / first write-in Saturday morning from 10 (or earlier) at Cafe Artista at 3rd and Main in Moscow. Our final TGIO party will be at Shari's in Moscow starting from about six and going to Midnight (the cake is a lie, but there will be pie!). I will be taking off the week of Thanksgiving, so talk to me about activities during that week, including T-day.
over 4 years agoThe TGIO / Final Write-in will be at Shari's from NOW. Thomas Hammer just closed. I will head out there shortly, plan to be there by 5pm at the latest.
over 4 years agoGood write-in last night at Café Aritista and Bucer's, attended by Amy, Sonya, and YT. Today at Thomas Hammer in Moscow from 1pm, and then the big finale/TGIO at Shari's, in the back banquet room. The cake may be a lie, but THERE WILL BE PIE!! And appetizers put out as well.
over 4 years agoWrite-in tomorrow at Café Artista from 3:30ish. but they're only open to 5pm, so I propose that at some point we move it to Bucer's across the street. I need to take off at seven. How does that sound?
over 4 years agoTHANKSGIVING WEEK!
I will be taking the week off, so if anybody wants to have a write-in, let me know and I can maybe show up. I will probably be home or in a cafe in Moscow writing. Text: 208 596 7696
over 4 years agoMARK YOUR CALENDARS : FRIDAY NOV 29
Some of us have agreed to have a write-in on Friday afternoon (November 29). It will be at Cafe Artista from 3:30ish until 7 (close). I have a doings after that, but everybody's free to carry on to Bucer's or whatever.
over 4 years agoFirst Wednesday Write-in Well-Attended!
We had Amy, Greg, Holly, Diane, & Jordan who attended Sunday's write-in, and additionally Paisley & Sonya who popped by on Sunday but could not attend. Sonya & Greg are new, so let's welcome them!!
I did NOT thoroughly poll attendants for whether SHARI'S would be a preferable venue for Wednesdays, so for now OWC it is! I do want to plan on SHARI'S for TGIO with Pullman joining us, however. Next write-in is Saturday! Who's going?
over 4 years agoI hear the Saturday Write-in at Moscow Thomas Hammer by the Pita Pit went well, 3-4 souls turning up. I was unfortunately out of town and missed it. I will plan on being at the next one. The idea has also been floated of joining hands with Pullman for their Saturday write-in (add Pullman region for times). Paisley and I should be able to provide rides if there is enough interest.
over 4 years agoSunday Write-in a hit!
We had Diane, Holly, Jordan, Sanae, Elizabeth, Amy, Greg, and me (I hope I didn't forget anybody!). The popcorn was a hit, we also had crudités which disappeared, and other goodies. We had several word races with the winner getting a free muffin each time. We had a few well-wishers who popped in.
Looking forward to OWC at 6 on Wednesday!! Write ON!!
over 4 years agoI managed to pick up one AlphaSmart at WSU. The other three did not work. I replaced the battery and cleaned it up and it seems to work fine.
over 4 years agoI am going to the WSU surplus store on Friday (Nov 1) to get at least one AlphaSmart 3000. They may have as many as four, so if you want one for $30, let me know and I will try to pick one up for you.
