Sorry for any confusion.
almost 4 years agoWanna add your own Write-in to the schedule?
Anyone can host a write-in, so even if you've never done so before, it's a fun and easy way to keep that word count up!
WHAT IS A WRITE IN ANYWAY?- It's pretty simple: every week Nanoers and MLs alike host events at coffee shops, bookstores, or wherever people can write. We come together, encourage each other and challenge each other to write more!
Well, how are they run?: People can sit and write together in silence or take a break to discuss plot issues, or you can run a word war or word sprint.
Sounds awesome! So what is a word war/sprint?: Choose a time period of say 15 to 20 minutes and announce the start and end. People then can say how much they wrote during the period if they like. You can see who got the most done or you can ask everybody for a word goal in advance. No one should feel they lost. We are really rushing against the clock and our own normal word count, not against each other. No one should feel they have to participate.
I’m sold! So what would I have to do as a host?: Easy! Simply let us know when & where to be, and personally attend the write-in you have planned (preferably arriving a few minutes early to snag a table).
If you are interested in hosting a write-in, please leave a reply on the Write-In Thread with the following info:
Location: Place you are hosting the write-in, with address
Date(s) & Time: When do you want to start and end? This can be approximate or tentative
Details/Info: Anything we need to know to come? Parking situation weird? Any outlets, or should we have our batteries charged? Internet?
Now on to the Notes:
almost 4 years agoWrite-ins are written in on the schedule. There's a Write-in on Friday, Nov 1 to start the month off write! (see what I did there?)
Also, on the 9th the Cafe Crawl (or the Progressive Penning Party). I scheduled two hours at each spot. Obviously this equates to three successive write-ins and you can participate in any or all of them. If you have any suggestions for changes to the schedule, please let me know!
