Hey, Wrimos!

Well. That's a wrap on this year's NaNoWriMo. Congratulations to everyone, whether you crossed that finish line or not, you are a writer. We are incredibly proud of you, the writing you've done, and the community you've fostered this past month.

I know you're sitting there going, "Now what?" The TGIO party, that's what. Keep your eyes peeled for another broadcast message from us with the survey and info on year-round events. The best way to keep up with us in the off-season is via our Off-Season Facebook page.

See you next year, and happy writing!

Hey, Wrimos!

Wakey, wakey! We've got lots of word count left to hit, and this is the last weekend day for the month of November. No matter how far you've gotten on your novel, come out to a write-in today.
1. Cafe Carolina in Cary
2. Southwest Regional Library in Durham

Details for our TGIO party are coming together. I hope you like finger foods. Comment in this thread if you expect to come. You should be receiving a NaNoMail soon with more info.

Any words are better than none, no matter how far you are. Just take a look at the varying word counts of your MLs over there on the right. Notice how WILDLY different they are? Well, they all keep climbing. Because we are writers. And writers write. And you, my friend are a writer, or you wouldn't be here.

Thank you to every who came out for the second annual Write-in-Motion! We are so proud of all of you and the hard work and crazy word counts you produced. We wrote a total of 172, 502 words, blowing both our goals of 100K and 150K right out of the water.

Ellen_Longhorn and kaiofhearts both broke 50K yesterday while at the event - so be sure to congratulate them and shower them with candy when you see them.

1. Dragon and Sword Master wrote 16,055 words.
2. Reka Stormborn wrote 12,772 words.

Hey, Wrimos! Today's par is 28,333. We have two write-ins this evening:

1. East Regional Library in Durham
2. Crosstown Pub in Cary

I'm running on very little sleep and jet lag today, and despite being ahead of our word count, am feeling dejected about my novel. So I pulled out my copy of NO PLOT, NO PROBLEM for a little NaNoInspo:

1. Inner Editor a problem? Gag her, hog-tie her, lock her in the basement.
2. Too much story left to tell? Skip to the halfway point, write the major scenes. Get to The End as words 49,999 and 50,000.
3. Stuck? Go big - kill someone off ~OR~ Go small - write ALL THE detail.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to chase down my Inner Editor. Happy writing!
