11 months agoTomorrow from 4:30-7:30 we will be writing downstairs at Wanskuck Library on Veazie St. Come out for any or all of the 3 hour block to get some writing done. Word war prizes are still available!

almost 2 years agoCongratulations to our winners so far! Right now at 4:30pm, I'm seeing 18 out of 120 active and homed members. Way to go!
For the rest of us, keep tapping away. Every word counts, whether you do 10k, hit a personal goal or the 50k (and above!). See you on the other side of November.

almost 2 years agoValidation has begun! In order to claim prizes for completing 50k or beyond, you must validate by the end of November before midnight local time.
For anyone still catching up: there's plenty of time. Focus on daily goals, and break it down into hour-long chunks. You can do this!

Wanskuck Library on Thursday, Nov 19 from 5-7:45pm.
Rochambeau Library on Saturday, Nov 21 from 3-5:45pm.
Both locations are downstairs in private rooms.
almost 2 years agoRochambeau Library has informed us that they will be closing their doors Thanksgiving weekend. The calendar is now updated to reflect this change and we're looking into a replacement venue.
almost 2 years agoToday is Rochambeau Library from 3-5:45pm downstairs in the computer lab. Bring your inspiration, novel implements, and any questions you may have. This is a great time to gather with others in the same boat! The computers are open to use as well.

almost 2 years agoThe computer lab is downstairs and to the left when you come in the main entrance. There is easy ramp access to the library and also an elevator.

Saturday is Rochambeau Library 3-5:45pm in the Computer Lab.
Please take a look at the calendar or forum post for more information. We will put signs up to help indicate where to go at each location. See you there!

about 2 years agoGood evening, wrimos. Thursday and Saturday write-ins have been added to the calendar. Check out the threads for either location to find out more info as these are both new venues! I will continue to update as necessary should anything change.
If you are interested in a late-night gathering on Halloween please let me know. I'm looking into 24 hour locations for a midnight writing session.

almost 3 years agoAttention: The Athenaeum write-in for Sun, Nov 23rd has been cancelled due to library's request. (Someone else is using the space.)
Good news is we should have the big room downstairs for future events!
almost 3 years agoReminder: Sat, Nov 15th - Knight Memorial Library Write-in will be held upstairs in the Board Room 3-5:45. We have the space starting at 2pm, but I have class until 2:30. Feel free to show up before me: say you are with NaNoWriMo, and get going! See you then.

When: 9am - Noon
Who: Anyone (not student only!)
Bring your laptops, extension cords and surge protectors, and get ready to have fun with fellow Providence writers. We wont be able to eat inside the library, but do bring snacks to enjoy downstairs in the atrium. I will give out candy as prizes for hitting word count goals!
almost 3 years agoAdded an event for Providence to the calendar. Tentatively it is set for Sundays starting the 9th from 1pm-4pm. This may change as things are solidified with the Athenaeum staff. I'm also waiting to hear back from Knight Memorial Library. Keep your eyes out for events, and be sure to post an introduction!
